ALLA (WA) / Wolters Kluwer CCH Conference Bursary

The Australian Law Librarians’ Association Ltd (WA Division), in conjunction with Wolters Kluwer CCH, is delighted to offer a bursary of $1500 for one of our members to attend the Australian Law Librarians’ Association 2016 Conference held at the State Library Victoria, Melbourne from 24-26 August 2016. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare a report on the conference and present it to ALLA (WA) members upon their return. Further details and selection criteria can be found below. FUNDING GRANTS FOR female leaders

Women & Leadership Australia is administering a national initiative to support the development of female leaders across all industry sectors. The initiative will provide women in all industry sectors with grants for leadership development. More specifically, grant applications are open to women employed in all sectors at two levels. Senior Management and Executive level Women Leaders can apply for $12,000 Individual Grants to undertake the Advanced Leadership Program . 2. Women Managers can apply for $5,000 Individual Grants to undertake the Accelerated Leadership Performance Program . The Australian Law Librarian (ALL) journal are seeking contributions for Volume 24, Issue 3. The theme of this issue is Education and Educating . Education - Within the industry there are an increasing number of professionals returning to study (or never stopping). ALL would love to hear from those in the beginning, middle or end of that study about what prompted you to enrol. Library Board of WA Award for Excellence

Nominations are now called for the Library Board of Western Australia Award for Excellence. The Award for Excellence is intended to recognize a particular service, event, program, piece of research or partnership completed within the last two years by any person, library or organisation in Western Australia. The award is a valuable opportunity for library practitioners to receive recognition for their achievements in the field of library practice. The winner will be announced at an event in Library and Information Week at the State Library of Western Australia in May 2016, and will receive $5,000 prize money. Entries close on Friday 8 April 2016.
