Update on the 2016 ALLA Conference

From the ALLA National Blog

Hopefully you have already synched the 2016 ALLA Conference dates in your diary, calendar, phone, yearly planner and the back of your hand! If not, the dates you need to block out are 24 – 26 August 2016. And don’t forget the location – the majestic State Library of Victoria.

Follow conference announcements on twitter via the ALLA Twitter account, @AustLawLibAssoc using the hashtag #ALLA2016Conf. Watch this twitter space for announcements about registration, speakers and social events. Details about the conference registration is now available on the Conference website.

The Conference Committee is busy putting together a bumper program to inspire your attendance. If you are interested in presenting a paper, please visit the Conference website for details on submitting an abstract. We are offering a 20% discount on conference registration to speakers, so send through your submissions.

Know a super-librarian, or key mover or shaker? The Committee is also happy to receive suggestions for speakers, so send your ideas through to convenor@alla.asn.au.

We know that the thought of talking in front of your peers can be daunting and, as we want everyone to enjoy the conference as much as possible, we are looking to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. To that end, if anyone who has previously presented at a conference, or has experience presenting to large groups, and would like to mentor first time presenters (or any presenters who would like to take up the opportunity), we would be immensely pleased to facilitate this. Please email convenor@alla.asn.au if you are interested in mentoring.
