WA legislation and creative commons

From the Hansard of 13 November 2019, we have a report of a significant development in Western Australian legislation and its future use by the legal profession in Western Australia. New look DoJ Law Library website now live

The new look of the Department of Justice's Law Library website went live today: https://dojwa.ent.sirsidynix. net.au/client/en_AU/llwa The  link is also available on the  Department’s website . The website includes links to free resources where available, as well as the library catalogue. Services marked with a padlock symbol are only accessible from onsite within the library.

Copyright webinar - 13th March 2019

Just a reminder to all ALLA WA members that there is a copyright webinar being held by Greg Taylor and Hari Gavanahalli from the Copyright Agency on Wednesday 13th March at 1pm local time. Surplus law reports, journals, texts available at the Old Supreme Court Law Library Stirling Gardens

The Law Library at the David Malcolm Justice Centre has completed the merger of the Department of Justice Library with the old Law Library at the Supreme Court Stirling Gardens and has identified excess materials that are now on offer to interested parties on a first-come-first-served basis.  These excess materials have previously been offered to universities, the State Library, the Parliamentary Library, government libraries and community legal centres.  As the next step, the surplus materials will be available for viewing by the profession during business hours (8:30am-5pm)  from Wednesday 6  March through to Friday 8  March 2019  by appointment only .  To make an appointment to view the material at the old Law Library at the Supreme Court Stirling Gardens, please email the Law Library at  llwa@justice.wa.gov.au  or call the Law Library Reference Desk on (08) 9264 1498 by 5pm 5 March 2019.  In addition to the material held at the Sup...
