ALLA National AGM 17th September

The ALLA (National) Annual General Meeting will be held via webinar / teleconference at 1.00PM AEST (11.00AM AWST) on Thursday September 17th 2015.

The agenda is available on the ALLA website.

One of the most important tasks of the AGM is the appointment of the new Board. ALLA Ltd is calling for nominations for the following positions:

  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • 3 General Directors
The nominations document on the website lists a number of benefits for members who join the Board. All directors have the exciting opportunity to play an active role in the future planning and strategic decisions of our Association.

Our current Vice-President, Elizabeth Langeveldt, will become the National President of the Australian Law Librarians Association Ltd. The Board is particularly interested in receiving nominations for the role of Vice President and Secretary as there will be no nominations for these positions by current directors.

If you would like to know more about becoming a director, please contact Karen Rowe-Nurse, myself or any of the other ALLA directors - we are all very happy to answer questions or discuss our experiences on the Board.

Nominations must be received by Thursday 3rd September 2015. If more than one nomination is received for a position, a vote will be held by members as per the ALLA Ltd Constitution.

ALLA members would have received an email from Emma Joneshart, President of ALLA Ltd regarding a call for nominations for members to join the ALLA Ltd Board of Directors. Nominations will be voted upon at the ALLA AGM, held on Thursday 23 September during the ALLA Virtual Conference 2021 . Keeping Up With ALLA (WA) News

In March 2023 we announced the  closure of the Allgwa list , and welcomed the arrival of the  ALLA (WA) Google Group .  To take full advantage of the Google Group - particularly the ability to deliver news directly to your inbox - the ALLA (WA) Committee has made the decision to cease posting to the ALLA (WA) Blog.  ALLA (WA) Members are encouraged to join the Google Group to make sure they don’t miss out on key news, events, job opportunities from the committee and our members.  Over the past twelve and a half years we've have over 208636 visitors (and still counting) to the ALLA (WA) Blog, from all over the world. ALLA Conference 2018 - Call for Papers

Submissions are now open for the 2018 ALLA Conference!   The 2018 Conference will be held in Darwin, Northern Territory at the Doubletree by Hilton Esplanade and there will opportunities to visit law libraries and enjoy the array of culinary and cultural highlights of Darwin. Centred around the theme of Global Impact/Local Footprint, the Conference Committee is looking for papers and posters, including but not limited to those that address the themes: Indigenous issues Career development Technology Education Presentations There will be a variety of presentation formats and lengths.
