Notice is hereby given that a General Meeting of the Australian Law Librarians’ Association Ltd (ALLA) ACN 158 242 696 will be held on Thursday 3rd May 2018, at  4.10pm – 4.45pm ACST as part of the ALLA 2018 Conference.

NOTES FOR YOUR GUIDANCE

Please note that this is not the ALLA Annual General Meeting and as such there will be no elections for positions until the AGM in September 2018.

Proxies

As a financial member at the time of the AGM, you are entitled to vote. Every member is entitled to one vote on each matter.
To have a vote at the meeting you must be either (a) present in person or (b) represented via a proxy. Please note that a proxy is not required unless there is an item of business requiring a vote be put to members. In accordance with the Constitution: (i) the Member has a right to appoint a proxy; (ii) the proxy does not need to be a Member; and (iii) a Member entitled to cast two or more votes may appoint two proxies and may specify the proportion or number of votes each proxy is appointed to exercise.

To use a proxy to do your voting for you, please complete the Proxy Form, attach and lodge it no less than forty-eight (48) hours before the AGM, so by 4.15pm on Tuesday September 9th 2014. A proxy form will be available from the ALLA web site and available by email on request.

Curtin University Law School now in the city

Curtin University has opened a new Law School campus in Perth’s Central Business District within an existing 1912 heritage listed building located at 57 Murray Street. Situated in the Perth CBD in close proximity to the Supreme Court, District Court and Perth Magistrate’s Court, as well as statutory tribunals such as the State Administrative Tribunal, the city campus will facilitate student’s education within an applied industry setting in line with Curtin’s primary vision of developing job-ready graduates. The new facility will also provide a unique home for the Law School and provide a hub for both formal and informal interactions between the staff, students and in-house legal professionals.
