Goodbye Allgwa List

Hello ALLA (WA) Google Group!

As with many list servs operating on the Mailman system, we have discovered that the allgwa list serve is no longer functioning as it should.

We’ve explored maintainable long term solutions and alternatives to this and have decided to shift to using Google Groups to allow for the ongoing ease of communication and information sharing between members of ALLA (WA).

All existing members of ALLA (WA) and the Allgwa list were sent an an invitation on 7 March 2023 to join the ALLA (WA) List Google Group. Thank you to those who have already accepted!

If you haven't accepted this invitation by now, it has expired. But that doesn't mean you can't join the Google Group. Just visit the link above and request to join.

Membership

Membership of the Group is moderated by the ALLA (WA) Committee and may be extended to those with an active interest in law libraries and legal information services in WA.

Posting

Members have two options for posting to the Google Group:  you can either log into the Google Group or simply email: alla-wa-list@googlegroups.com. We recommend using the email option.

Do I need a Google Account?

You can join this list without the need to have an existing Google account.

I can’t access Google Groups on computers at work and need help joining.

We understand some of our current members may not be able to access Google Groups and other Google services via your work computer systems. If this is the case and you are unable join, please get in touch with the Committee and we can add you directly to the list. Emails from the list should still come through even if the web based version is blocked.

Our friends at ALLA (Vic) have developed a Google Groups guide, you can access this from the ALLA website. Thanks ALLA (Vic) for sharing!
