The Bitner Research Fellowship for foreign law librarians offers a unique opportunity for visitors to experience American law librarianship, learn the American legal system, and network with professional librarians to create life-lasting personal and professional connections. Lynne Lyon (Manager, Library and Information Services, Department of the Attorney General) has advised that the position has been vacant since early March but was caught up in the freeze on advertising of vacancies in the public sector. It is a senior librarian position (Specified Callings Level 3, $98,686 – $109,280) and is one of three Team Leader positions carrying responsibility for library and information services to a portfolio of clients. Hi! I have recently started at JacMac as the Library Technician, working three days a week. While studying for my undergrad degree I worked part-time at Corrs, then moved to a full-time position at the Supreme Court after I graduated.  I reluctantly left that role in 2006 to live and work in Norway for a year, where I tried sheep head (smalahove), rotten fish (lutefisk)…and hiked a glacier. I also completed a Grad Dip in Information Studies through Curtin during my time away from the law library scene to have children.  I am hoping this year to ease back into work and dance the inevitable working mum tango (or tangle? – I never was a good dancer ☺). The film uses Google Books as a prism through which issues of data-mining, copyright, freedom and surveillance are illuminated.
