Dear Members
As many would be aware the Australian Law Reform Commission have released a paper on Copyright and the Digital Economy. In particular there is a section on Libraries from page 40.
http://www.alrc.gov.au/publications/copyright-ip42
ALLA will be making a submission as copyright is a major concern of libraries, including licensing, archiving and for what is allowable for education reasons.
I would appreciate if you could take a moment to read the questions -http://www.alrc.gov.au/publications/copyright-and-digital-economy-ip-42/questions - and reply to me with your responses to collate into the ALLA response. Feel free to submit something separately, as your organisation may have more specific concerns you wish to address.
You can email me back your points on the questions.
The closing submission date is 16 November 2012, so it would be appreciated if you could respond by 13 November.
Regards
