CPD Event: Publisher Negotiations Roundtable

ALLA (WA) invites Librarians involved in the negotiation of law subscriptions to a Publisher Negotiations Roundtable CPD event.

Subscription renewals are coming up, so it’s time for the Librarians (No Publishers) to get together and discuss our negotiation experience.

We all complain about how difficult it is to get the publishers to limit their uplift in pricing each year, and we are all facing pressure by our organisations to reduce expenditure. This roundtable event is an open discussion opportunity to share our knowledge to  work towards getting a better deal.

A light lunch will be served.

When: 12-1pm, Tuesday 14th of February 2017
Where: Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Level 6, Brookfield Place Tower 2, 123 St Georges Terrace, Perth
Cost: Free to ALLA (WA) Members, $20 for non-members. No Publishers.

ALLA Conference 2018 - Call for Papers

Submissions are now open for the 2018 ALLA Conference!   The 2018 Conference will be held in Darwin, Northern Territory at the Doubletree by Hilton Esplanade and there will opportunities to visit law libraries and enjoy the array of culinary and cultural highlights of Darwin. Centred around the theme of Global Impact/Local Footprint, the Conference Committee is looking for papers and posters, including but not limited to those that address the themes: Indigenous issues Career development Technology Education Presentations There will be a variety of presentation formats and lengths.
