ALLA (WA) 2022 Conference Bursaries Open!

ALLA (WA) Members will have recieved the following email from ALLA (WA) President, David McDowell about the opening of ALLA (WA) Bursaries for the ALLA Conference 2022 to be held in Hobart 2022. The email included a Bursary application form. If you did not recieve the email and require the form, please contact the ALLA (WA) Committee

The ALLA (WA) Committee is excited to offer two bursaries to cover the registration costs for the Australian Law Librarians’ Association (ALLA) Conference taking place in Hobart on the 24 to 26th of August 2022.

These bursaries are valued at $1500 each and will reimburse ALLA (WA) members for the cost of the full conference registration ($650 early bird rate / $700 regular rate) and could also cover the conference dinner ticket ($150) if the successful applicant wishes to attend. This leaves a small amount to go towards travel or accommodation.

Applications are open to ALLA (WA) Members only.

To apply please provide a short statement (no more than 500 words in length) outlining why you believe attending the ALLA Conference 2022 would be beneficial to your career development.

Requirements for Successful Recipients:

  • Successful recipients must have current membership for ALLA (WA).
  • Successful recipients must not receive another bursary from ALLA National to attend the same conference.
  • Successful recipients must register for the conference (and provide evidence of registration) before seeking reimbursement from ALLA (WA).
  • Successful recipients must attend the specific conference within the calendar year of receiving the award. If the award is not taken up within the time frame, the funding and registration will be void.
  • Successful recipients are required to provide a presentation on their conference experience to ALLA(WA) members at a CPD session (face to face or virtually depending on current COVID-19 restrictions) within 8 weeks of attending the conference.
  • Successful recipients will reimburse ALLA (WA) of the funding in full, should they not fulfill the obligations of the bursary program.

A merits based selection of successful recipients will be undertaken by those of the ALLA (WA) Committee members who are not applying for one of these bursaries.

In the event that only one application is received that successfully outlines the benefit of the conference for career development, the ALLA (WA) Committee reserves the right to offer only one bursary and increase the amount to $2000 for the successful recipient.

Please send applications to ALLA (WA) President David McDowell by COB Monday 20th June 2022

Successful recipients will be notified by return email, by COB Monday 27th June.
