ALLA Conference 2022: Program Available

Get ready to conference!

The ALLA Conference 2022 website is a great resource to find out all you need to know about the conference. Make sure you take a look to check out details about the conference, including special conference rates for accomodation.

This year the conference is being held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, Tasmania and the conference program looks to have some great events in the program!

Workshops

Per ALLA Conference Tradition, there will be a half-day MOYS Workshop held on 24 August 2022. This 3 hour workshop will be led by staff of the High Court of Australia Library. It costs $75.00 for ALLA members, and $95.00 for non-members. Get in quick though - the workshop will be limited to 12 people.

Tours

What is a librarian conference without a tour of a library? There are two tours available to nominate for when completing the registration form. Conference registrants can nominate for a tour of either the State Library of Tasmania or the Andrew Inglis Clark Library (the Tasmanian Law Library).

Social Events

Naturally, the key reason many go to a conference is to network and there are a number of social events on the programe to help us do just that!

The Welcome Reception will be held at the Federation Ballroom at our conference venue. Tickets to this event are inclusive with a full registration. If you decided to make your trip to Hobart a bit of a holiday and bring a friend - you can purchase additional tickets.

The Conference Dinner will take us on a vineyard adventure to Frogmore Creek. Tickets to this event are in addition to the conference registration, and  this 4 hour dinner will include being collected from the Brooke Street Pier and transferred to Frogmore Creek in "unique style", and no doubt a sampling of Frogmore Creek's highly acclaimed cool climate wines. Frogmore Creek is 20 minutes from Hobart, with Brooke Street Pier a 7 minute walk from the conference venue.

Closing Drinks are our last chance to catch up with friends old and new, and will take place at the at the Mezzanine of the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Like the welcome reception, the cost of this social event is included in your registration, with additional tickets available for purchase.
