ALLA Awards 2022 Nominations

Know someone who has done great work over the past year?  Now is your opportunity to recognise and celebrate the great people in our industry!

The ALLA Board is pleased to invite nominations for the following awards. 

Winners will be announced at the ALLA Conference 2022 dinner in Hobart. 

To nominate a worthy recipient, please email Karen Rowe-Nurse, ALLA Ltd Secretary, or complete the nomination forms available on the ALLA website (and linked below) by COB Friday 19 August 2022.  Nominations are a simple process, usually only requiring a short statement to support the nomination. 

ALLA Law Librarian of the Year Award

The ALLA Law Librarian of the Year Award recognises an outstanding law librarian or information professional who is nominated by their peers. Nominees are measured on the value of the service provided to ALLA and to the legal information profession as a whole. For more information see the ALLA Website

ALLA Gem of the Year Award

This award was introduced in 2014. It recognises outstanding service by a vendor / publisher / supplier who:

  • Demonstrates excellence and innovation in customer relations
  • Promotes awareness of how customer relations initiatives can benefit information professional and suppliers alike
  • Encourages high quality communication
  • Promotes best practice

ALLA Legal Information Service of the Year Award

This award rewards the dedicated performance and outstanding service given by legal information services, law libraries and those teams managing legal collections and services. These awards are unique as they recognise the value and importance of dedicated team work within our sector. For more information see the ALLA Website

ALLA Life Membership Award

In 2014 the ALLA Ltd Board began awarding life memberships annually at the national level for law librarians who have retired from full-time work and have made a significant contribution to the Association and profession. This award provides ongoing gratis ALLA membership. For more information see the ALLA Website

ALLA members would have received an email from Emma Joneshart, President of ALLA Ltd regarding a call for nominations for members to join the ALLA Ltd Board of Directors. Nominations will be voted upon at the ALLA AGM, held on Thursday 23 September during the ALLA Virtual Conference 2021 . Keeping Up With ALLA (WA) News

In March 2023 we announced the  closure of the Allgwa list , and welcomed the arrival of the  ALLA (WA) Google Group .  To take full advantage of the Google Group - particularly the ability to deliver news directly to your inbox - the ALLA (WA) Committee has made the decision to cease posting to the ALLA (WA) Blog.  ALLA (WA) Members are encouraged to join the Google Group to make sure they don’t miss out on key news, events, job opportunities from the committee and our members.  Over the past twelve and a half years we've have over 208636 visitors (and still counting) to the ALLA (WA) Blog, from all over the world. We thank all of our readers who have supported the blog. We especially thank all of our blog editors and contributors who have volunteered their time, skill and knowledge to develop this resource. Copyright training 27th July

The Australian Libraries Copyright Committee is offering training sessions in Perth on Monday, 27 July. The sessions are free to to member organisations and their employees - ALIA, NSLA, CAUL, NLA, AGLIN, NAA, CAARA and Aust Soc Archivists ( note: ALLA is not included ).
