It's the ALLA (WA) Blog's 12th Birthday!
The year has gone very fast; since our last birthday, we have posted 96 blog posts!
The ALLA (WA) Committee thanks all of our current and past contributors, along with our readers who are spread out all over Australia (and the world!). We look forward to sharing more with you during our next year!
Our Blog has come a long way since our first post back on the 25 October 2010 - a President's Letter from our then President Jacqueline Seligmann.
Last year we celebrated with a letter from our President, David McDowell, but this year we're doing things a little differently and looking back on the year that was.
Since 24 October 2022, when we posted our celebration of our 11th Birthday, our blog has been viewed 15,200 times. Since 25 October 2010, we've been viewed over 197,000 times.
Our most read post of the year has been the Do you know about FLO? post. This post provides an update on the Finding the Law Online Project. This ALLA National project is made up of team of volunteers from across the country who are lead by Anastasia Stepanovic, ALLA Vic President and Alice Hewitt, ALLA (WA) Social Media Coordinator. The blog will continue to post updates about the FLO Project as it moves forward, and you can learn more about it on the ALLA website, or in the September 2022 edition of the Australian Law Librarian Journal. New volunteers are still welcome to join the Project Team.
Rounding out the second and third spots for the year are the Call for Papers - Australian Law Librarian post, and one of the Job Opportunities : Seeking a Shelf Change series. So far in 2022 alone we have posted 19 job opportunities wrap ups. Each wrap up focuses on law librarian and legal information professional opportunities, along with a number of non law opportunities were our skills are highly transferrable.
In the past few years, Google has discontinued it's Feedburner service, and our readers can no longer sign up for free Blog alerts via email. We encourage readers to subscribe to the RSS feed on the right hand side of the blog. Or you can follow us on Twitter @lawlibsWA, on LinkedIn, and we share our posts through the joint ALLA (WA) and ALLA Vic initiative of @LawLibrariansAU on Facebook and Instagram. We also share a lot of other additional news and more on those channels.
