On Wednesday ,18 March a group of about 16 Perth law librarians gathered at Jackson McDonald’s pristine new premises, high above Perth and the Swan River (what a view!) on Level 17, to munch their sandwiches and to partake in a presentation on Personal Development Planning, given by Alison (“Ali”) Local, Learning and Development Advisor with Jackson McDonald.
It was an interactive hour, with 4 groups of participants, noting and speaking what each one thought of “PDP”, all of which led to further discussion and exchange of ideas; it was an experiential , refreshing workshop, based on our own experiences in the workplace. We came away with some very useful tips, notes and sense of direction.
I loved the wide array of colourful gel pens, provided by our host – my notes were written in fuchsia- pink, which definitely flirted with the eye! The appearance of the ALLA logo at the top of the printed pages was also noteworthy – gave a very professional finish! This is a workshop/event worth repeating.
Thank you, Mawghan, for hosting us, and to the CPD Sub-Committee for arranging this practical lunch-time get-together.
