Information Resource Specialist Postition - Chevron Perth

Chevron Australia has an opportunity for an experienced Information Resources Specialist to join the Information Management team. Based in Perth, this two year fixed-term role will report to the Infolink and Knowledge Management Lead.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of library related information including purchasing, classifying, cataloguing, disseminating and discarding
  • Participate in the development of a dynamic collection of information resources based on an understanding of clients’ information needs and their learning, work and business processes
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the content and format of information resources, including the ability to critically evaluate, select and filter them
  • Maintain current awareness of applicable emerging technologies, and advises the Library Coordinator of relevant developments
  • Assist the Library Coordinator to actively communicate the business value of current, new and innovative information resources and services
  • Research, analyse and synthesise information for clients
  • Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices

Key skills and experience required:


  • Tertiary qualification in information management, preferably librarianship
  • Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Thorough understanding of the principles, practices and techniques of library management
  • Records management experience and familiarity with technical geo-science and facilities engineering documentation
  • Strong teamwork skills, self-motivated with the ability to influence and motivate others
  • Methodical and practical approach to issue prevention, problem solving and an ability to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
  • Demonstrated commitment to Chevron’s values of integrity, partnership and trust and achieving an incident and injury free workplace
