Legal Research Librarian - 6 month contract

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing complex reference services to internal clients (both print and electronic resources)
  • Conducting complex research tasks
  • Classifying and cataloging new library materials
  • Assist in evaluating electronic products providing feedback
  • Set up and distribute media searches to users
  • Assist with knowledge centre tours / inductions
  • Assist with legal research training when required
  • National and local projects as required

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a law library
  • Relevant qualifications are highly desirable
  • Experience with online resources for legal and business research
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Personable manner

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced research librarian who is seeking to join a friendly team. The role is initially offered on a 6 month contract, however there is possibly the opportunity for permanent after this point. Please note hours are 09.30 – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

ALLA members would have received an email from Emma Joneshart, President of ALLA Ltd regarding a call for nominations for members to join the ALLA Ltd Board of Directors. Nominations will be voted upon at the ALLA AGM, held on Thursday 23 September during the ALLA Virtual Conference 2021 . The ALLA Ltd Board of Directors is an important part of the Australian Law Librarians' Association's governance.
